IowaCNP is now using Okta, a single sign-on authentication method that is a safe and secure way to sign in to multiple applications without having to maintain separate passwords. It requires two or more ways to prove an identity to access an account. This is an essential step to enhance the security of IowaCNP.  Previous IowaCNP usernames and passwords no longer exist. 

For users who have an Okta Id.iowa.gov account select the "Log On" button.

For users who do not have an Okta Id.iowa.gov account:
-  Create an account, by visiting id.iowa.gov and click on “Sign up” in the bottom center of the white box. Your username will be your email and must match the email used in the Security section of IowaCNP. Utilize these instructions for further details.
-  Once completed, please notify [email protected] to have IowaCNP added to your profile.

Direct Certification - Schools

  • The  11/17/2025 NOVEMBER  Direct Certification(DC) list is now available on the Iowa Education Portal (EDPortal). To access the DC list, you need to have completed an IowaCNP Access Form and have an Okta Account. Contact our Bureau at [email protected] for assistance.

IowaCNP Helpful Hints

  • When navigating thru IowaCNP, do not use the web browser's arrows, also know as backward and forward buttons, this may cause duplication of data entry.

    Only use the navigation buttons within IowaCNP, that are normally located on bottom of webpage. Most common navigation buttons in IowaCNP are "Back", "Save" and "Cancel"
